Bmw 1M prices holding strong!
Discussion
1Ms are still selling for strong money, I know of two both with Sat Nav screens that have sold for over £40k in the last few weeks.
Seen a couple at around £35k without these and they are still hanging about. I know of one dealer that just cannot shift a low mileage VO 1M just because it hasnt got the screen. Its the first thing he's asked and as soon as he says no it doesn't have it down goes the phone. These look to be bargains at this price but IMO the large screen is better suited when using info through the i-drive.

I bought my VO on Saturday and personally only looked to buy one with as many toys as I could get.
Satnav/ Idrive was a must. I was very happy to get a low mileage one and pay the premium.
Off topic but does anyone else get sooo much attention in their 1M's? :-) Sadly mine are more from male onlookers lol!

A unique opportunity to purchase the only known convertible BMW 1M replica in the UK.
This car has undergone a complete transformation from its former 125i standard guise, to that of a BMW 1M Convertible. BMW themselves have not made or intend to make a 1M convertible, hence this car is a unique one off vehicle.

My old 1M just reduced by £2k.
Gonna be hard to sell a 1M with that mileage on though. What was was the mileage when you sold it?We've owned our 135i since before the 1M was even a twinkle in BMW's eye but I wish that the 1M wasn't a limited production car as that would have been THE car to buy at the time if it was available. Anyway, underneath (engine, suspension, trans) our 135i has been upgraded and is all M3/1M plus some more however, it remains with the understated M-Sport body kit without those big flared (lovely) arches of the 1M. I love the way that the 1M looks but it's not financially sensible for us to pay another £20k for a 1M which essentially only differntiates itself from our car only cosmetically.
Still, would I buy a 1M if they dropped below £30k? Probably , although I don't believe I could ever let go of this 135i which seems to imbed itself further into my heart every time I drive it, it's pure madness on wheels.
If you really want a driver's car with the driving pleasure of a 1M but cannot justify the price, I will happily give you a list of parts to turn a 135i into something more special than the 1M in that department. Sadly from a status POV the 1M will always trump it.
To get a 135i to where a 1M is mechanically you'll need...
- BMW PPK2 (remap, cooling fan, additional rad & air ducts)
- M3 Front & Rear Sway Bars
- M3 Front Control Arms & Tension Rods
- M3 Rear Subframe Bushings
- Quaife or Wavetrac Torsen Differential (although 1M uses plate type E9x M3 diff)
If you plan on opening the taps fully then skip the BMW PPK and opt for a proper custom remap, high flow & large bore downpipes, a more efficient intercooler and a free flowing cat-back exhaust. All of this should net you anywhere between 420 & 440bhp/450 - 470lb-ft.
As for your question regarding things to look out for on that 1M though, I would suggest listening for long crank times as this will indicated fuel pump or injector problems. Also rev the car and listen for a rattlesnake type sound while the rev drop back to idle as this will indicate loose wastegate pennies. The wastege issue is apparently fixed due to a revised design on late N54 engines but the potential is always there and it's an engine-out job to fix.

The Hexagon CSL sold no problem apparently - got very close to asking I'm tol
My friend has a CSL with just 6k miles. He wants £50k if anyone is looking for what is a brand new CSL! If I had that sort of money then I would snaffle it up. I am having to make do with a boring e46 std M3. Great cars though.
The 1M will command good money for a long, long time imho. Don't think they will reach the same fanclub status of the e30 M3 and e46 CSL but they will always sell well imho
