That was certainly quick. By the looks of it you won't have much time to save up to pay for it mate.
Their not hanging around, The main car and front wings are now in primer, couldn't take any pics as the camera's not charged. There's going to be a slight wait for the paint as the guys who supply the colour scheme haven't created codes for Henna red in the latest type of paint yet and expect it to take a week or so.
Think its something to do with all paint for cars going over to water based.
Yeah thats correct. When I was doing mine I asked the paint shop to keep some solvent based paint for me a year in advance, until I had saved the money to start the project.
Mine took 9 months, by looks of things, your's will be finished well before that.
keep up the good work mate. And keep the pic's coming.

How much (roughly) will this cost ?
i've been thinking about buying a modern classic BMW with a view to getting it resprayed.
It would be slightly unfair for me to say as i'm getting a good deal as i know both directors of the bodyshop very well and so they are doing me a good rate and letting me do the boring time consuming work myself. I would have thought to give them the car whole and pick up following a complete respray would be around £3-4K but don't really knowi've been thinking about buying a modern classic BMW with a view to getting it resprayed.
Quick update, most of the car is now in primer bar the boot lid, and the panel under the healights, which i need to remove this week. PS don't worry the wheels were only on while the originals were reconditioned. They arrived back today and are looking very nice.
Ive also been scotching off and respaying all of the black plastic trim with satin black paint, these bits are all starting to look a hell of a lot less faded. Example below which was very faded, I won't bore people by posting all of the pics!
Also collected all new badges, fog light surrounds, door handles and a few other parts from Munich legends today so once the shell painted I can get on with putting it back together.
Just need to get hold of the guys i've been recomended to retrim the front seats and I should soon have a nicely sorted M3.
Plan is to use it for whats left of the summer and look at refurbing a few bits under the bonnet over the winter.

I would have thought around 2 months, but if the bodyshop was working on it full time maybe 3-4 weeks.
Because of the price i'm paying i've told them not to rush if they get work which is going to pay better and be in and out in a few days although they do seam to have cracked on with it, so hopefully I'll get to use it before winter.
