When can we expect an AWD M5?

What do you mean by a £10k lower final payment as that's not a good thing? Are you saying BMW's GFV is £10k higher on the M5 than it is on the RS6 as i really can't see that being the case.
BMW around 23k final payment. RS6 around 34k final payment. Both on same deal / term. Trust me I have owned both. You can even go look on the website calculators. BMW is a cracking deal. Audi is an OK deal.Babw said:
If they can do a rear biased system like the GTR it's a no brainer in the UK with the amount of rainfall we seem to have. You can slide the GTR on demand and catapult out of corners without sliding on demand also. It takes more effort to drive around oversteering everywhere in the GTR but no more effort than to drive an M5 tidily + quickly in adverse conditions.
Agree with that. paulmc said:

What type of funding are you referring to Paul?A lower final payment with a PCP or the like is a bad thing as this means the delta between OTR price & end price is larger & thus the monthly payments are higher. A higher balloon payment indicates a better residual value & thus the GFV is supported. PCP's work best with a higher final payment.
The RS6 list & OTR price is higher, so common sense says that would filter through to the end of the agreement & thus the final payment would be greater, but i don't see how that's an advantage to the BMW or the Audi as no gain either way.

monthlies are much the same give or take £30. I am not going into the details of my deal but safe to say the Audi is expensive I guess the interest rate on the Audi is to blame.A lower final payment with a PCP or the like is a bad thing as this means the delta between OTR price & end price is larger & thus the monthly payments are higher. I think i understand nowAs you say, BMW offer 0% on some of their funding options but best i've seen from Audi (IIRC) is 4.9% & on such a chunk of cash if the monthly payments are similar & the OTR price of the Audi higher by say £8k then the differentiator will be Interest rate & the higher GFV.
Looking forward to seeing what happens to standard cars future values once the PE hits the street & where Audi set the PE values.

Thanks for interjecting some facts, I agree with all you say. BMW will not destroy the rear bias of the M5 by going AWD, they know the DNA of their target market intimately. Fact is we have reached the limits of what power can be put down with RWD. Its an nice problem to have BTW, if I lived in the SW I probably would not have started this thread, I am in NE Scotland so realise my desire for an AWD version is different to many others.
