A story:
Once upon a time I found myself on e-bay looking for a set of E31 Brembo calipers to fit my M3 Evo. I'd read on a number of forums that they were a bolt on upgrade with E46 M4 discs and had been searching for a while for a pair.
I stumbled upon a slightly ambigiously worded advert for a set of BMW Brembo calipers, sure enough stating that they were from an E31 8 series.
Paying slightly over the odds, I won the auction and went to pick them up, only to find (when trying to fit) that they were from a BMW 7 series and did not fit.
Moral of the story? Double check that you are getting E31 8 series calipers and not 7 series calipers before you bid!

Incidentally, I have since procured a set of E31 calipers and have them fitted with genuine E46 M3 discs. Overal great upgrade although I noticed more benefit from upgrading to Pagid RS29s than anything else.
