A little modification to my M6 - very nice!

Got a very good deal on these upgrade LED angel eyes from a colleague of mine. They replace the yellow standard angel eyes to an ice white appearance. Pictures are taken from an iphone so don't really do the car justice. They look much better at night.

Mine is the pre-face lift E63 and apparently these are very easy to change over.
It all took around 3-4 minutes.
Remove the back cover behind the head lights, reach down and you'll see a bulb like this with wires leading to it
twist it to your right and it comes out of its holding, detach the wires, put the new bulb in into the same place, reattach the wires and the support wire and job done. Much easier than changing standard H7 or H4 head light bulbs or even parking bulbs in normal road cars.
New bulbs look like these
Not expensive at all, they retail at £34.95 I believe. BMW charge you £25.00 for a standard yellow tint angel eye bulb. The upgrade are twice as better, come with a 24 month warranty and are significantly cheaper.

A friend of mine did this on his 6 series, but I actually prefer the yellow angel eyes
I think the procedure is more complicated on the 5 though, as I don't think there is a cover behind the headlamps.
With the E60 5 series, I think you have to remove the head light to gain access. Not 100% sure but sounds like too much of a faff to me!I think the procedure is more complicated on the 5 though, as I don't think there is a cover behind the headlamps.

Looks great, I think I may have to copy.
Go for it, Nat. They definitely add a 'modern touch' to the E63 in my opinion. They are so easy to fit too. Here is the link

I did this on my 6.
However they made my radio crackle as led bulbs can do.
Really depends on quality. In some early variations the CANBUS microchips on the bulbs triggered all sorts of warning lights and fault codes. I remember one instance of a car even going into limp mode when he changed his brake light bulb into a 380 LED type. Thankfully technology has improved massively since then. However they made my radio crackle as led bulbs can do.
