any F10 M5 owners looking to go for an F80 M3?
Discussion
My M5 is now 3 years old and plan to keep for a while longer, but I'd certainly look at the M3 as a replacement, as well as another M5 or maybe an M6 GC.
Based on what others are saying about current offers, M3 doesn't offer much financial incentive at the moment, but I'm sure that will change in due course.
So reasons I would consider M3 is that it should be cheaper, offers option of manual gearbox and it is a more nimble car. I wouldn't expect the same quality as the M5 and I think I may prefer to go back to a smaller car in a couple of years.
But if I were in the market now with £60k to £70k to spend, I'd probably stretch the budget for the M6GC.

Iv had the M5 now for nearly a year, and i have it for another 2 years on lease. Obviously it is epically fast in a straight line, but i only really get to use this for short bursts on the motorway. I do very much like the car, however next i think i will want something smaller and 'sportier'. This means i will probably look at a boxster/cayman gts, evora s, f type, and from the BMW range the new M2 rather than an M4 if it turns out to be what i hope!
This also depends on whether i decide i need 4 seats, in which case most of these are ruled out and i also consider a 911.
I think the M5 would compliment a boxster gts etc as the family car... although i would probably want it to be an estate and 4wd as i struggle to get traction unless the ground is dry.
With all this said, i still think the M5 is great and i feel very lucky to be able to drive one every day!

I have an F10 M5 and I am considering a new F80 M3, or a new C63, when my M5 lease is up at the end of this year. If M3 pricing (After discounts, finance etc ) is still the same at the end of this year, then the C63, or even another M5, look like better value for money. I still need to test drive the C63, so I am not really ready to make a decision yet.
When are you looking to switch to the M3?
