hi folks you may know ive been on an m3 smg search for a short while. a friends smg recently stopped performing past 4000rpm long story short its a 4k repair job at the main dealer the problem was the gear box went! before this happened it was an urban myth for me but now this incident is seriously making me lean towards a manual now..forgive me for starting the age old debate but am i really safer with a manual? and what warranty should i get that definitley covers engine/gearbox failures without having to write a letter to the MD to get paid out? i'm buying privately not an AUC

You can't manually change gear quicker than a SMG if that's what you want ?

Over the years I have only heard of one M3 manual gearbox failing 100%, and when I asked what was the problem I did not get any answer, so I put that down to operator error !

There are many painful stories about SMG gearbox Failure.

This post will now be followed by many replies of manual gearbox failurelaugh

Just go and buy an M3, drink alchol, take drugs and have sex, ( not whilst driving) and stop asking so many question, you will need a bus pass by the time you make your mind upgrumpy
i know what your saying i really need to live a little dont i lol
