E36 M3 doors

Now then, as we know some E36 M3s came with aluminium doors.

Do they offer much, if anything, by way of a weight saving over the "standard" doors?

I can imagine that would all add up to a big weight saving BUT... I'm thinking along the lines of a Kumho car, and I don't think that changing wings would be permitted.
