How's yours coming along Simon?
Slowly! But steadily, it's just finding time. Got the new hood to fit this week, and wheels off for refurb. It runs though, all interior etc all done. Engine bay all reworked, piped, wired etc. Bumpers left to paint. It'll get there eventually! GBB said:

From memory, the drivers one was just a case of drilling new holes in the sliders and bolting through. For the passenger the sliders arw different width due to transmission tunnel, so I sat it on two bits of flat to pick up on the seat mounts and the runners. I had to ditch some of the slider release mech though as it fouled on bottom of seat, used some cable ties which work well.I think I have a write up somewhere, I'll send you the link.

Digby - Inspect the top of that rad very carefully for hairline cracks. The plastic on the top starts off black but goes brown with age and heat, often accompanied by cracks and failure. Should be fine but worth a check.
Good looking car though!
Cheers mate, it's on my list of things to do!.Happened on my last MX5 which is how I found out about all you have suggested! I did take a look and it seems ok, but it will be changed regardless. It's such an original and clean car this one, so I wasn't suprised to see what is probably the original radiator when I popped the hood. It's covered around 62k miles iirc. Good looking car though!
Bought this on Monday and have spent the last couple of days giving it a "spoodle". Don't think it had been cleaned properly for years so the wheels and underside needed a good scrub and a good T-cut and wax was in order - always enlightening with a new car, I think every panel has a small ding in it... a few bubbles appearing here and there as well. Anyway it was less than a grand and came with a couple of months tax, new m.o.t., four new tyres, various bits and bobs, some history and a mere 76,000 miles on the clock (who knows how far it's actually been tho'?).
Such beautiful MX5s on here - makes me wish mine wasn't such a shed and that I should have held out for BRG/Tan
Her name is Kiara. I have added a wind deflector already as there wasn't one there, and hopefully will be putting a exhaust on her soon!
Needs brakes rebuilt, new wheels, roll cage etc...

Hi everyone, first post and my new mx5. Had her a week now and have already started tacking bits and bobs, door locks, window motors and engine bay fluids. Been using pistonheads for years but finally signed up as I thought it only right. I've loved driving her but already have a gigantic list of things I want to do!

Hey Catfish! Call that a shed? You've not seen some of the stuff I've driven over the years... looks alright to me.
Hey Spoodler! Ok not a massive shed but not great nick either lol! My Trans Am was a shed as was the Toledo so I'm getting used to the idea! I'm sure yours weren't all bad ;-) Where in Wilts are you based, if you don't mind me asking :-)welcome Patch! lovely looking '5 :-)
We're just outside Calne, N.Wilts. And you're right, most of my cars haven't been sheds but those that were could be described as pretty rough - I'm old enough to have lived through the hey day of cheap rotted out Minis, Escorts and Cortinas with fungus growing on the perpetually damp carpets, even MX5s don't rot and leak like the tat from the 1970s...
