83,000 miles on a 96 N reg

By the looks of some of these others, not even run in yet! thumbup

It's a toy it only comes out for hooning and track days - and it appears to love being driven hard!

Got to sort that cambelt soon though...

Well, the service paperwork is not showing any evidence of a change - I've only had it a couple of months.

Doesn't mean it hasn't been done though. The history shows that the previous owner used a Mazda dealer for everything - and I mean absoultely everything including brake pads and wiper blades so I find it odd this job would be overlooked - espeically as on these cars it's not even a very expensive job people would put off doing.

Best I get it done in Jan.

matt uk - I think you are based in Kent? Give Mark at Freelance Mazda a call, full cambelt service for 160 quid +vat!

If it helps, Mk.1 has a non-interference engine so if the belt goes it *shouldn't* be terminal!

Yup, good call that. The fact that it's non-interference meant that in my own mind it wasn't a case of life or death if it hadn't been done.

I took the car for a run up to Maidstone for Mark to give it the once over when I first got it.

I keep toying with the idea of doing these sorts of jobs myself but to a combinatino of cold weather and my lack of talent / tools / time / patience

I'll be booking in with Freelance in the next week or so.
