My little 5!
It's spent all winter in the garage due to running two other cars, and throughout that time every frosty or snowy morning I have longingly looked at the garage before jumping in two sterilised german boxes for the daily commute.
One of them is rear wheel drive, one is front wheel drive, they are both capable machines... One called the ultimate driving machine, but today the 5 creakily emerged from the garage.
Yes she creaks when the doors are opened, yes she feels a bit agricultural, but after coughing into life, and a gentle 30 miles warming her up, I finally got to give her some beans down a Warwickshire back road.
Roof down, CD player skipping on every manhole cover, creaking in all parts of the car.... She felt amazing, and put a smile on my face that I tried to recreate by turning the DSC off in the bimmer, but failed!
Long live the much maligned little red roller skate. For a cracking B road evening in a car that has been in the dust for five months..... I salute you.
Should have listened to my senses in January and re taxed you!
