No Coke GMT despite rumours, although Tudor have released Black Bay version...
The Tudor Coke GMT and new Black Bay are much nicer than anything Rolex have released

I quite like the retro Coke looking Black Bay and the Black/Grey Rolex GMT (I dig the green bits) but nothing too spectacular. I'm mostly pleased they haven't discontinued the Pepsi as I'm still really keen on getting one of them.

Just incase anyone hasn’t seen it

Wonder if they’ll bring the all black bezel GMT one back soon? To me that’s a classic GMT along with the Pepsi and the black/red , these new colours are obviously popular but I’m glad I got an all black one before it was discontinued. It seems a bit less obvious (for a Rolex) and more versatile without all the colours.

But what will it’s ridiculous nickname be?

I have an all black version too and I recently heard someone call it the “espresso” which I thought was pretty desperate!

Black grey?

Probably another superhero like dark night perhaps?

Maybe we should start one.

The koala or the owl? Urban sprawl? Smog? Grey dealer?

I could tolerate the pre ceramic Pepsi and Coke when they were the only 2 with names (not including Patrizzi / Paul Newman etc)

It started to go wrong with Batman and the Sprite / Riddler was particularly embarrassing!

What a weird thing to do and I’m guilty of going along with using these wky names!!

There have been quite a few more like the great white, fat lady, president etc....it's not a new thing nicknames have been a thing for 50 years or more, but most wouldn't have known maybe it's the popularity and therefore the wide use that irks some.

I think it’s the tenuous desperation of the new names!

I thought Sophia Loren was charming :-)

I imagine the new GMT will have ghost somewhere in the name

Fat lady not so much, although the link to Sophia was as tenuous as anything that has come since (certainly not fat), I'll stick with thinking it's a slightly snobbish attitude to what has always been a thing but perhaps not as widely known, many that call it out will have no idea that it goes back so far.

Poverty and child abuse have 'always been a thing'; that certainly doesn't make them desirable. Regardless of your views on snobbery, having a nickname for a watch is ultimate-cringe, and I hope that no-one ever says it out loud in company.

Are you ok with saying “sub” or a “speedy pro” or calling certain speedmaster pros a “snoopy”
