Incoming: what do you have? (part 2)
Discussion
TBH I haven't asked, but seeing as he hasn't even started it yet there'd be nothing to see anyway! It's a part time hobby for the the chap that's doing it all, he works in colour batches by the sounds of it and will be doing a black cerakote batch at the end of this week, mine will be the first built up after the case, bezel, crowns (I'm having both the original and a knurled crown coated)and buckle and pin are out of the oven.
My patience seems to grow with age, but I do want it back goddamnit

But off to STS first for a service, replacing the original hands and adding an Engrish day wheel.

What'll happen is that after buying loads you'll soon gravitate to a design you prefer the most and get rid of ones you don't like any more...
I am there with my pieces that I really adore ie my Breitling SOH and my PO but I am always on the look out for some thing that takes my eye and will be functional as the Oris diver will be. I can now use the Oris as a daily beater beach swimming etc and take the PO for evening. I just do not feel dressed without my watches.
... and then buy really expensive versions of the models you do like.

(Has anyone here bought a watch on 0% finance before?!)

Is that the TZ one? I thought you weren't 'that' interested in that particular one!
My Oceanographer should hopefully be on my wrist over the next few days...!
I think I was referring to the previous one sold on TZ in June which had the service dial, just before this one came up; this one has service hands, (slightly thicker and shorter than they should be), but comes with the originals so it's quite easy to put them back on. My Oceanographer should hopefully be on my wrist over the next few days...!
Original dials are practically impossible to find, although even the hand set is unique to this model, it being slightly larger than the normal Speedmasters and the hands consequently longer as a result.
It's also got a service bezel (or late edition bezel) as it's accented; the early and original ones are nonaccented, but again, I've got the original one.
As I'm probably going to get new day and date wheels fitted I can live with an accent though - with only about 1300 or so ever made it's only a very few that survived in original state, (due as much to Omega as anything), but the correct dial & hands were important to me.
Are you talking about a Bulova Oceanographer there Luke?? A real 'beast'...
(You shouldn't get me started - here's just one of the things that I like about this versions case compared to the normal Speedmasters - take a look at the pushers and see how they are semi-shrouded in the 376.0822(r) and open on the SP(l):
(Pascal S)
I'll get my anorak....

Another rare (properly!) find for you again, a lovely collection you have.
Not a Bulova for me, no; one of these-
A Taernan Oceanographer (an old Norwegian company that has been brought back to life, one of a run of 200).

I live in Norway, you got me all excited then. Is it not Swedish ?
Great looking thing though.
My apologies, you're correct it's Swedish. Great looking thing though.
It is lovely looking and I do like the fact it isn't just another early Submariner homage (although I do like the Kingston), but has some of it's own design cues.
