Yes, Podie. It does so in a bizarre R2D2 impression!
hehe

The first set of beeps are the hours.

It then does the minutes, but a double beep ("dee-do" sound) means 15 minutes.

So.. beep, beep, beep - 3

Dee-do, dee-do, beep, beep, beep, - 32

Easy when you know how smile
And I would have sworn it meant "Shut down all garbage compactors on the detention level" scratchchin

Must be NOS, I guess?

They are excellent VFM, I had one exactly the same, but it looks like this now :

A new acquisition. Love the fact it has a unique mechanism.

The smooth movement of the second hand is great, and the finish is lovely. I love the fact most people will say, oh, it's just a Seiko smile.

I think most peoples heads would explode at the thought of spending that kind of money on a watch, but a Seiko too. I would love seeing the look of utter bewilderment before their heads popped biggrin

Lovely thing, just been looking them up, SBGC005 now on my bucket list.

This is a good video that shows how the movement works. In essence, a small amount of power is drawn from the mainspring into the IC and quartz regulator. This is what gives the watch its one second a day accuracy.

There are three models: stainless with a light dial; titanium with a black dial and gold accents (including the hands); and the version I have bought which is stainless with silver hands on a black dial. Gives a lovely contrast I think.

I'm supposed to be downsizing my collection, but somehow this has slipped in.

J. Springs are made by Seiko. I have another J. Springs and the quality is comparable to a Seiko 5 Sports. I think the day/date ring is something to do with being able to see what day a particular date in the month falls. Quite unnecessary, but I like the look of it and I really like the colour of the dial.

I am a bit concerned because the seller is in Russia (bought on ebay with paypal), but the photos he has used to sell the watch are the same as can be found on a German watch forum post from 2011. Either the seller has the same watch and has used the photos because he found them and they are decent photos. Or the seller bought the watch from the German chap and is using his photos. Or maybe they are the same person. I hope it's not some sort of scam. The seller has 146 positive feedback, so not too bad.

Is that what you're getting from yours? You might want to get it looked at, my 9R65 equipped GS is absolutely bob on after about a month's worth of continuous running wink

Wrist shot when you get it, please!

Been mulling over one of these for a while but can't make up my mind about them.

Once ive the house built I fancy treating myself to a Tag Monaco but in the meantime I grabbed a bit of a bargain at amazon's warehouse outlet thing when I was looking for a square faced watch for just £40:

That's what they quote, but like you so far it's keeping time to the second (two weeks).
