I was thinking the same the other day. I might go for a scummy old Poljot alarm soon. Tons on the bay of e.

Lovely - will definitely be keeping an eye out on the TZ-UK Sales Corner for something similar!

I have just ordered a blue Orient Mako. Wanted one for a while now as I have only heard good things about them. I figured it would be a nice alternative to my Monster which I wear almost daily during the week.

Posted in this thread a few weeks back about an incoming Citizen 'Eco-Zilla' as a present from my folks. Well, birthday is tomorrow and I've got the watch a day early due to them being away. Some quick phone pictures....

Huge Box...

Huge Watch complete with diving suit strap adapter and thick owners manual that I just know will never get opened...

As comfortable as the standard rubber is I always planned to put it straight on a leather strap. To do this you have to buy aftermarket strap adapters, there are a few choices but by far the best are 'Suppas'. The machined finish is perfect and they literaly drop straight in without any problems. This photo shows the strap fitment, very very secure and if you look at the rubber strap in the top right you can see why you need the adapters in the first place, Without them you are stuck with the standard rubber. Once you fit the adapters any 24mm strap can be fitted, I've selected Chocolate Brown leather...

And now for the answer to the question "Just how big is the EcoZilla?". Well, quite simply, it's bloody huge!. Here is a couple of shots next to the PH staple size measure, the Seiko Monster...

(Notice how 'factory fit' the strap adapters look)

Surprisingly considering it's huge size it is very, very comfortable on the wrist...

Cannot state enough just how nicely made this watch is. I hate to say it but the quality of the machined finish and the overall feel of the watch puts the monster to shame. My new favourite item.... will get a huge (pardon the pun) amount of wrist time (again, sorry about that).

ps. The Suppa strap adapters also come highly recommended by me if you already own a 'Zilla.

Those strap adapters do look very well-made. It makes the lugs look standard!

The crown, like all of the other parts apart from the hands, came from 10watches though they don't seem to list it anymore frown

That is foofing fantastic.

I've got a "dead" SXK007. Hmmmm...

Could you give us a ball park figure for the cost? If you could do a breakdown for the bits, that'd be even better, but no worries if you'd rather not give any costs.

Just had a quick look through my paypal account -

Donor watch (working but a bit wabi'd) - £45
All of the parts (domed and AR'd crystal, matching bezel insert, gaskets, chapter ring, crown, face and hands) - $175 total
Black work (bead blasting and then cerakoting the case, case back, bezel, strap buckle and pin and both original and aftermarket crowns and blackening and reluming the second hand) - $212 total inc complete final assembly of all the components and return postage
P&P of everything to the U.S. for all the work to be carried out - approx £10

+ cost of straps

Not cheap but it was all spread over a few months and there's every possibility that it's completely unique which is pretty cool, have a look at my thread on TZ (look back on the previous page of this thread for a link) for all the info smile

(Seller's photo)

Never had a vintage, never had a manual wind, and never had a case shape like this one before.

For £25 it seemed like a worthwhile deal.
