Been using a G-Shock for 5 years of policing - ironically I bought it because it was pretty cheap and didn't matter if it got broken. Just cannot kill the thing.

Picked up one of these the other week. With adapter, sits on a 24mm Nato and that look really works for it.

I just this minute paid $30 for this on WUS:

I know it's on the wrong strap, but it's going to be a project.

Behold the G Shock Stealth Mod :

Whilst I have your attention Mr Ninja Sir, I notice you on TZ quite a bit.

I've slowly crept up to the 25 posts needed to view the sales forum, will I need a few more posts for folk to take me seriously for buying on there ? I just find the whole vibe a bit too serious over there and don't feel like I fit in. The Sales site isn't to be sniffed at though. I *know* the whole 25 posts thing was to weedle out folk like me, but PH and a few other sites is all I can manage !

The mod is amusing. Can I reverse the reverse as it's not as clear as the original style. tongue out

As for the posts, if you have a genuine interest in watches, the 50 posts will appear in no time. I don't see why all the complaints about it. I'm not exactly a "yes" man yet I don't seem to have been banned.

I'd like to say thanks to ApexJimi, this was what I wanted.

I found it for £75 with free shipping, I can't wait to receive it.

Quite fancy one of these - hoepfully the wife is getting it for me for Christmas.

It will be for weekend / holiday wear only, as I have a nice TAG Carrera for everyday!

The wife did buy me one of these biggrin

Funnily enough, whilst searching the 'net for stockists she found this thread and bought from the supplier recommended cool

Can someone explain what the appeal of these watches is?

At a push, I'd say the reason is diposable income. They are the watches we would have bought as kids, or rather waited until our birthday for. Like Playstations, trainers, BMX bikes etc. this is the sort of stuff we can buy on a whim with money left over from paying for grown up stuff.

I guess most of us have proper watches with leather straps and hands and the word 'Swiss' written on the dial, but when we're out being awesome after the whistle blows at work it's G Shock o'clock as we skateboard past you walking your dog in a tartan dog jacket. Smell you later pops ! To the Maxxx, etc etc.

1. Indestructible.
2. Highly accurate (the WaveCeptor models).
3. Extremely comfortable.
4. A certain chunky charm, and the Giez and MTG lines are genuinely good-looking.
5. In watch terms, they're cheap as chips.
6. They're not copies, clones, hommages or replicas of anything else.
