Just checked my notes, what he actually said was 11,800 Swiss Francs - not Euros, and not 10,500.
That is the correct price in CHF. From memory it is a CHF 300 increase over the old Daytona. With the pound where it is, I'd wager that the UK is the cheapest place to get one at RRP right now - if you could find one
I'm collecting a white dialled ceramic Daytona tomorrow- I'm very excited about this.......my Rolex AD phoned me up a few days ago to let me know it's in stock.
I've been waiting bloody ages and thought it would not happen- but I've been keeping in regular touch with the store owner and I think ultimately I got one because he was fed up with my constant emails.
Grey dealers are asking £14,750 for ceramic Daytona's......like all stainless steel sports Rolex until they start sending more to the UK stores it's a desperate affair........it won't go down very well with the Rolex fraternity if supply suddenly increases in unison with the highly anticipated 10% UK price increase..,,,,,

Totally agree on this, I picked up my white face Daytona last month having not purchased a single thing from the AD previously, but I was constantly in and out of the dealer pestering the manager, I do think this method works as either they either get fed-up with the harassment and want to get you sorted ASAP, or you come to the top of their head when they receive a delivery.I've been waiting bloody ages and thought it would not happen- but I've been keeping in regular touch with the store owner and I think ultimately I got one because he was fed up with my constant emails.

BTW Congrats buddy, you will love it, perfect watch IMO not too flash and brash, but not too conservative, just the right mix
I walked past a dealer the other day with 3 daytonas in the window, all stainless steel bezel, two tone bracelet, one mother of pearl face, one white face black dial, and the other grey faced.
I assume they're the undesirable ones/previous model? I'm quite hazy on rolex in general so not handy with these. I liked the older white daytona that had a huge list so never bothered.
Which is the pick of the current bunch?

Try the Rolex boutique in Zurich rather than a provincial multi-brand dealer. I think you'll have more success.
I was in Zurich over the Easter weekend, didn't know that all shops would be closed on the Monday too so didn't get to visit the Boutique. I just called them and spoke with a assistant from the shop who clearly knows good customer service, the UK AD's could learn many things from him!. I digress. If you want to put your name down, you have to physically visit them in Zurich and cannot put your name down over the phone. If supply continues as it has done, it is about a 6 year wait.
Plus note, got to hear and see Carrera GT being driven next to Zurich lake, what a noise!
I don't know anyone who has ever waited the quoted time, whether it be 6 or 8 years. A friend ordered one black and one white faced from separate dealers ... approx 12 months before the ceramic version was released.
He received both watches after around 12 months of ordering ... he has purchased one watch from each dealer previously, so yes a customer but not for a length period of time or for many watches.

For what it's worth I have tried to get on a load of list in the uk and am supposedly on a few. London is the worst place as even as a previous customer some shops won't put you on the wait list and some aren't doing lists
Re Europe I have tried in Austria Italy Switzerland Belgium and Luxembourg and pretty much been told the same thing - either they only supply to local residents or that they aren't keeping a list
I ended up paying over list and if another comes through at rrp then will have one of each colour
