Had this a couple of years now and still loving it!

This one I just cant seem to gel with. Its a lovely watch but the case dimensions I just find awkward on the wrist.

Willing to take a hit on it. Only worn once home from the shop! £400ono.

SRPF79K1. Seiko Save the Ocean Special Edition. It's based on the King Samurai so ceramic bezel and better quality finishing. All the markers and bezel line up, unlike the cheaper Seikos.

PM me, would be interested in this! I tried one on a year ago but it was the wrong price.

I wear this watch every day and don't really pay it much notice. But I only have to adjust it once a month or so and only by a couple of minutes max.
The trusty SARB has been a wonderful daily, wear and forget type watch.

I'd love a GS one day but not sure I can see the point when this does the job so well. Same goes for my nato green military Seiko 5. Keeps better time than my Speedmaster and gets used way more often.

EDIT - Apologies for the massive closeup of my wrist, not sure what's happened there

That looks really quite special. Would love to see one in person.

Great thread. I'm interested in buying a Seiko, having looked at Smart Moon Watches in person and discounting them as, well a bit too much like a Smart than i anticipated in feel etc... (although look like an Omega at a distance).

I have a TAG Carerra all steel also but want something to wear daily but is still a 'proper' watch

Has anyone purchased from https://www.firstclasswatches.co.uk/seiko-watches-... ? Website suggests authorised dealer and they have some good prices.

Im debating a Seiko 5 Sports Flieger Automatic Black and Orange Watch or Seiko 5 Sports Field Black Plated Leather Strap Watch so any thoughts welcome on those also

I’m an ex commercial diver, bought this at the Souq in Sharjah in 1982…. It’s been submerged in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Suez, Gulf of Mexico, offshore Nigeria and Ghana, and the South China Sea… never missed a beat and my daughter now has custody of it smile

I put the sticker on the face myself… we used to say if you want to know the time buy a Seiko, if you only want an estimate buy a Rolex…

I bought one of my recent Seikos from them, I was sold by how cheap they were. Item turned up as expected, with no problems at all.

Thanks, that's the kind of feedback i was hoping for. The price made me a bit suspicious but the TrustPilot reviews etc say i am being overcautious! Will report back

I'm really happy with it. Also works well on a strap:

That Night Birch is glorious!

I have two Grand Seikos, both are spring drive. Together with my other watches (which include a couple of JDM Seikos) I’ve said I have enough watches to suit my needs.

But a Hi-Beat as glorious as that could well tempt me to buy just one more. Maybe when I’m 50 in a couple of years.

A little story which dates back thirty years now. We are in the pub (the Milburys near Winchester if you know it) and the owner and my friend are discussing their watches. The pub owner has a Rolex, and my friend a Seiko, and the discussion goes to and fro as to which is the best. Many pints later, neither giving in, they decide to put the matter to the test and decide that each, from the end of the bar, will throw his watch as hard as he can against the stone chimney breast at the other end of the bar. Both watches are retrieved, and one watch is still running perfectly and the other isn't running at all. A pint is called for and the winner raises his hand. The Seiko is still ticking and Martin is overjoyed. Lennie, the bar owner, never let us forget just how much it cost him to get his Rolex repaired. Not to tried yourselves of course, but an anecdote I have never forgotten!

I've bought at least one watch from them online. They have an actual shop in Kenilworth, and since I used to live there I knew (and had visited) the shop before I knew them as a competitively priced place to buy online. Would definitely buy from them again. Some heavily discounted Seikos from other UK suppliers can be grey imports but since they're an authorised dealer you can at least be certain you get the full UK warranty.

Received this morning from Joe at Anglesey Watches cloud9

He sourced, serviced and cleaned this up for me, everything works as it should and it’s running spot on. It’s been tested to 50m so more than happy in the shower. I couldn’t be happier; what a stunning Seiko.

Thank you Joe, excellent service as always beer
