No sooner had I caught a GW-5000 (see "incoming") I also got a call to say my GS was ready to collect
Q&D mobile shot will have to suffice for now, I'm just a little bit ecstatic
Look forward to updates on this one Sharky.Q&D mobile shot will have to suffice for now, I'm just a little bit ecstatic
Be interested to know what you think of build, accuracy and general wear and tear.

Much wantage here. I'd be interested to know how accurate it is?
Since collecting on Saturday and setting it against one of my atomic Gs it has neither gained or lost a single fraction of a second, that I can tell by eye anyway. I won't be wearing it too often but will keep it wound just to see how it goes over the coming weeks, 72h power reserve is quite handy here Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get some decent photos up and I'll report on time keeping again.Edited by CardShark on Wednesday 19th March 14:54

This arrived this morning.
Absolutely delighted with it. It really is a very, very nice watch. The only thing I haven't quite bonded with yet is the cyclops. It's a bit intrusive IMO. I wonder if it's possible to have it removed without damaging the crystal?
79280? Non-Tiger branded, without the 3-d numerals would make it one of the last - if I'm right. Late nineties, 98/99 perhaps issue? Absolutely delighted with it. Does yours have a Rolex branded case and a Rolex or Tudor Triplock crown?
If so, leave as is. Becoming rare.

It's a 79280P. H101 serial number. Unsure on what year it is, I was led to believe its a 2001 but would love to hear from others. It is a Non-tiger (which I really like). It has a Tudor crown and Tudor case back. Does yours have a Rolex branded case and a Rolex or Tudor Triplock crown?

Mine is thirteen, fourteen years old, and the last Tudor Selfridges had in their Rolex case. I wasn't too aware of watches then, but I was drawn to it. Obviously in retrospect, a prelude to the formal withdrawal from the UK and other markets. It came with a leather strap (never worn) plus the Oyster bracelet, and tells me that it isn't a new thing for Tudor - packaging a watch with a strap choice. I think mine was made a few years previously as the Tritium was DOA as I found out later in the evening after purchase
I don't wear it so much these days, but it will never, ever be parted with. Amongst any number of reasons, I've just never seen another.
A bit like my choice for Mastermind - AMG model history pre C36 (before the tuning house became 'official' as it were) - for horophiles, Tudor gets interesting when looking at their 80s-2000s output: For the 79260/79270/79280, there seems to be various combinations of plain numeral dials, 3d effect numerals, baton-style markers, white on white dials, white on black dials, black on white dials and black on black dials. Then there are watches that have the Tudor crown, and those that have the Rolex one. Some with drilled lugs, some without. Then they splashed 'Tiger' on it, which I think wasn't a great idea....then things went a little obtuse with stuff like the Hydronaut.
I have no idea on production numbers, but by the looks of Chrono24, the lack of ubiquity I guess means that prices have in some cases doubled or tripled!
Sorry to barrel on: there is such a lack of good, detailed history on these watches that just adds to the allure.

The Tag Monaco must be the watch I want most. Gulf colours are an extra draw.
It's my 21st soon and I keep thinking it's time to buy a 'proper' watch.
I got mine for my 21st/ Graduation. I had the choice of quite a few tags as family member used to work for them but this won hands down !It's my 21st soon and I keep thinking it's time to buy a 'proper' watch.
