Very Nice. Did you get to keep the bits they've replaced?
FWIW, I wear mine on an Isofrane which, IMHO, is much more comfortable than the steel bracelet (the end pieces of which also scratch the bottom of the lugs).
Unfortunately not, I wasn't overly concerned, although it would have been nice. It's a keeper!FWIW, I wear mine on an Isofrane which, IMHO, is much more comfortable than the steel bracelet (the end pieces of which also scratch the bottom of the lugs).

Know what you mean about the strap, it's also quite 'flimsy' in comparison with today's models.
My only real concern is the domed acrylic looks like a scratch magnet!

It is, but it's easy enough to sort out with some polywatch. After a while though, like with a Speedie, it ceases to bother you.Know what you mean about the strap, it's also quite 'flimsy' in comparison with today's models.

Something curious turned up in the post this morning...
Actually really like it! A very copper-rich bronze which should develop a lovely patina. Ordered from Hong Kong on 24 April and deliverd to me this morning - fantastci system with emails and tracking all the way. What a great company! Took it off the leather and put it on the canvas; it's huge but I wanted that 'Captain Nemo' look for a bronze watch so it fits the bill.
My enjoyment of boutique/microbrands continues

http://www.anconwatches.com/ I thoight it was sufficiently unusal. In the metal it is a VERY copper-rich bronze alloy. Looking forward to some patina-related fun with this and my Maranaz Bangla brass watch.
Hm. The choice is growing!Still think I prefer an Armida, though.

Still wearing my Hydroconquest everyday, three months in now.
Still on the original bracelet - it has the odd scuff now so i'm not so precious/worried about it now! - maybe i'll mix things up with a shark mesh bracelet one day, or a blue Toshi strap. Having said this, the polished centre links which I was unsure about have really grown on me, and add to the watches appearance, making it stand out a little. It's a comfortable well designed substantial bracelet too, so why change it...
I only take it off to wash/work on the bike. It's keeping fantastic time, very near (if not) COSC. Very comfortable, and easy to read, and the bezel stands out beautifully when it catches the sun - i'm glad I went for blue!
I don't stare at it as much as I used to, but I sure love it! For a special never-sell watch for my 21st birthday, I chose well It's transpired since day one that that it is so nice that it just has to be worn everyday - and fortunately, it makes a great everyday watch thats for sure. Thanks to the people who recommended it!
Nice review of a fantastic watch. I'm a year in with mine now and love it. Ridiculous value for money, I don't think there's anything in its price range to touch it. The one thing it does emphasise is that the Hydroconquest is a very versatile watch, it looks quite different on a leather strap and its bracelet.
Totally agree on VFM, though, a great watch at the price.

Yes, very versatile! Always intended to put it on a leather strap, but the quality of this bracelet has put me off straps - perhaps one day with a nice suit... Until then, it'll be the original bracelet - just substantial, so well made, eye catching, and comfortable. Maybe a shark mesh for some of the summer though?

I like that a lot - nicely designed dial, and only around £100 too? Good stuff Paul Drawmer said:
Smart watch, like that! CW produce some nice watches - almost got a C8 Pilot for my 21st, but went with the Longines Hydroconquest.CHN said:
Very nice! Always loved the Speedmaster and it's simplicity - I will buy a Speedmaster when I graduate if i've got the readies, or with my first pay packet in my first engineering job - seems apt for some reason.Riff Raff said:
