I'm thinking of buying a new watch, and selling my current one (not here though, don't think it's allowed here).

What would a genuin tag heuer from less then a year old still be worth ?

And where would be the best place to sell it? I walked into this one shop who buys jewelery and they said it would be worth between 200 and 300 pounds, which seems much lower than i was expecting, do these watches really drop in price that quick ?

Well the last version of that exact model (If I'm correct that its a CT1116 Split second chrono?) sold for £411 on ebay, Item number: 270113201041 (completed on 1st May this year). That watch was similar to yours with the box/papers and in imaculate as new condition.

I know ebay prices are not always totaly indicative, however I have found ebay to be a far better sellers market than buyers on name brand watches. So £300 from a jewellers unfortunately sounds about right

If a jeweller is only going to give you this figure for your watch would it not be better to keep it and start a collection??
You would get a bit more for it if you are upgrading to a 2-3k watch from a jeweller as long as they do part exchange service??

I sold the same model last year on ebay for £400 or there about's, i was also offered the same price as a part ex on a new watch at a jeweler's but did not take them up on there offer. As mentioned i would sell it on ebay for the best price.

Little update on this topic.

Was walking through the city centre today when i saw another jewelery shop and thought why not give it one more go (been to 2 shops so far, highest offer was 300 pounds) and see what this guy sais.

I was quiet suppurised to see him offer me 700 pounds for it, which i obvisouly took then.

So now i'm happy, and me car is going to be happy as well, as he will get new shiny alloys
