Where to find vintage Omega?
Discussion
Considering of adding a late 60s, early 70s Omega to my collection to celebrate a forthcoming significant event. I'm all over ebay, but not sure I want to follow this route, plus it's a bit 'random' - never know when one will turn up.
Anyone know of any good websites or shops (pref in the South) for sourcing said item?
Found this site, but all the ones I like are SOLD, plus they seem unwilling to communicate with me - emails all ignored.

I hope you're a vintage expert if you're buying off ebay. Shocking number of frankenwatches coming out of SE Asia, IIRC. I forget who really knows his stuff about them on PH but I recall his warning.http://www.austinkaye.co.uk/Home/Default.aspx

Great link, thanks. What's a Speedsonic? Currently thinking of a Dynamic, but there's some awesome food for thought on that site!35-36 Burlington Arcade

certainly worth joining one of those forums and asking for advice there.

They can always be refurbed again.
Although it isn't worth that much, so it's not end of the world if it did get a scratch or dink on it.
Sure. But I'd rather just wear it/enjoy it and when I sell it, get it nicely refurbed for the next owner. What is amazing is that this watch keeps time to about +/-20s and I don't think its been serviced in its life (or at least the previous owner never mentioned it as part of the sale).Although it isn't worth that much, so it's not end of the world if it did get a scratch or dink on it.
