Apologies to anyone who loses the rest of their evening as a result of this link (as I'm sure I'm going to!) - have a look at lot 142:

I thought the Newman had red second marker track, rather than a red dial - the few I've seen did anyway?

IIRC there are two red dial PNs about, both sold well at auction a few years ago and were linked to two famous guitar players. However I have heard that neither watch has ever been through Bexley for a service & probably never will. If you payed £250k for a watch you wouldn't want that bad news would you?

I remember these selling a couple of years back, wasn't these a 'bit of a Stewards' regarding the authenticity?....

Yup, hence the Bexley reticence.

The one with black sub-dials was apparently sold with a Rolex certificate of authenticity.

There's supposedly a single green-dialled one too.

That would make a huge difference obviously smile

And I would love to see a green dial PN, as soon as I read it I saw it in Viper green biggrin

I tried on a 1960 Paul Newman in Paris today. Truly a spiritual moment smile

Apparently, the certificate was from an Italian dealer and not from a certified Rolex service centre. Any Rolex of such importance should go through Geneva or Bexley really.
