Discussion
First post folks so hello first of all, as the title suggests it's my 21st soon (towards the end of May). I'm looking to purchase my first 'proper' watch, I've been milling about on PH for a while now so I know there's been hundreds of topics like these so I apologise
Now I'm not James Bond or a professional diver but some of the watches on here look a little to easy to break and as I'm going to have it permamently attached to me I do need something relativly tough. Doesn't need to be a divers watch but I'll leave the suggestions up to you.
I'll probably be stretching to just over a grand and I'm not a huge fan of watches with lots of details. The Sinn U1 I like but I'd love to have a choice...

The U1 combines simplicity / ruggedness extremely well, but the bracelet & case is not made of especially hardened stainless steel.
The Sinn 757 / 857's are made from tegimented steel, but may not have the simple look your after.
A Damasko DA 36 or 37 is a nice simple 3 hander that has an ice hardened case - different style to the U1 but worth a look & less money.

My only advice is to make sure that whatever you buy is a keeper.
I've still got the Tag i got for my 21st. It's now nearly 20 years old, slightly battered, but i'll never get rid.
Yep, same here, got my tag for my 21st and 19 years later it is still working fine, great watches and it will be given to my son when he's 21, buy something that last I've still got the Tag i got for my 21st. It's now nearly 20 years old, slightly battered, but i'll never get rid.
you can be james bond with a seamaster quartz. plus your parents will love the 0% finance goldsmiths are giving atm.
i was never a massive watch fan until i got my seamaster auto. i was always told you can tell a gentleman by his shoes, and his watch. i wear mostly £3 pumps from primark, so it had to be the watch to advertise my chivalrous ways. now im totally hooked.and will be starting my collection soon

Sounds the perfect job for a Seamaster Professional IMO.
A fine watch but possibly the most crushingly unimaginative choice you could make. The ultimate clitoris watch of the century so far. Unless of course, you go vintage
but then, I wouldn't think you'd get the robustness you're after.
