I've been wearing a simple Ellese sports watch that my father bought me as a birthday present for over ten years now and I thought it would be a good time to treat myself.

Obviously not going for the silly stuff but not going to scrimp either.

I'm thinking something like this

or this

Just in case I visit space anytime soon!

Now I know these are quite obviouse choices but any ideas?

Btw - I have slender wrists so watches like Breitling are out.

The Tag straps can be specified. I'm not sure about the synthetic trap but pehaps black leather would look nice.

I think if I went for the Speedmaster than it would have to be the steel bracelet

I'd go for a used but I live in Dubai and I have a feeling that they'll be thin on the ground.

Also, I'd be very wary about them being fakes here.

Cheers chaps - I shall head off to a top notch timepeice emporium this week and see what thay look like on.

As an aside, my company do the PR for a retail group and they just launched the Jacob & Co watches over here. Jacob Arabov himself turned up. Have to say that even if I was the richest man in the world, I'd never, ever wear one of them - hideous imo.

This is rather nice too but as it is over GBP 10k, I'll probably have to give it a miss!

I'll be honest and say that looks and the brand are relatively important - I have a great watch that has lasted over 10yrs without missing a beat apart from a few battery changes, but I do believe that as men we only have a few things that we can wear that can help us stand out - cufflinks perhaps, nice shoes and maybe a nice watch.

Stuart, my problem too - built for speed me, not for comfort
