Fake watches in Turkey...
Discussion
Hi All,
I spent last week in Turkey and was absolutely staggered by how good some of the fake watches were - sapphire crystal glass, all chronos working, nice smooth automatic movements. Some of them were very nice watches in their own right! I was almost tempted to buy one or two lesser known watches (U-Boat for example) as they were very nice. I resisted the urge though - they were actually quite expensive, and I didn't like the idea of buying a fake!
One of the funniest things I heard was on a market stall, the vendor shouting at the top of his lungs "100% genuine fakes"

Hmm, good until the bezel or numbers fall off, the chrome on the bracelet wears off, or they start losing 5 mins a day. Or until you get them wet and they fill up faster than the Titanic.
Very possibly. I hadn't appreciated just good the fakers had become. Judging by the prices that 'no box, no papers' watches fetch on eBay, maybe others don't realise either! Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
