Which watch for groom

I have been asked for advice on a pre-wedding present by the wife of a good friend of mine.
He already has a Rolex Explorer II black face and a Cartier Santos 100 (black strap & stainless), so you get the idea he likes his chunky watches.
He doesnt do thinner dress watch styles, which narrows the search considerably.
Budget is £3-4k and looking for inspiration.
(I have pointed out IWC Aquatimer, IWC big pilot, Breguet XX so far)
