It's time for another local meet!

As per usual, the North London meet will actually be a good few miles north of London in leafy Hertfordshire. Time and venue to be confirmed, but probably around 10am on Sunday 21st August at The Cowper Arms in Letty Green (in between Hatfield and Hertford).

It's about 15 minutes away from the Potters Bar junction of the M25 and it's also a good rural starting point for a morning's hoon if anyone wants to go on (or arrange a pre-meet drive).

http://www.thecowperarmscolegreen.co.uk/

Directions
The scenic route from Potters Bar/A1000: Follow the A1000 north as Potters Bar gives way to Brookmans park. Go past the traffic lights for the B157 junction and about 150yds further up there's a turning to the right signposted 'Essendon B158'. Follow this road into the village of Essendon (about 3.5 miles) and out the other side. After you leave the village and the road returns to NSL you want to take the second road on your left. It's a very sharp turn and it's unsignposted. After that you want to keep following the road to Letty Green, through the village and out the other side. The pub is on your right immediately after you pass underneath a railway bridge.

From the A1/A414: Take the A414 (heading east if you're coming from the A1) until you come to a roundabout (the 3rd I think) signposted Cole Green and Birch Green. After you pass through a couple of traffic islands there's a signpost on the the right to Letty Green. Follow this road (if you overshoot it there's another turning about 50 yds later) and the pub is on your left about 1/4 mile later.

(Neither way is as complicated as it sounds, I promise. The post code is SG14 2NL, but some sat navs do have trouble locating it!)

ETA Date provisionally changed to the 21st

May try and make this one but I'm generally not back in Hertford until 12.30pm Sundays. Won't be in the Porsche either!

As usual myself and the Mrs are on board, except as others have said, we are already booked for Wilton House that day.

Could I suggest the weekend after? Only as the weekend before (the 7th) has an event on at Duxford with many car clubs attending that I think has been mentioned on here too.

Would be up for the 21st, and per usual could arrange a little pre-meet drive if there is interest.

We could easily change to the 21st. We've stuck the thread up to see who's about and when.

Room for a newbie? This isn't too far from me and would be good to meet some like minded people, running a bit low on social interaction since I moved to the area...

Always!

You'll be in good company with an MX5 too - run-meister Plenty often brings his out to play, although I hear there's a new toy that might be getting an airing?

No embarassment necessary, though some exotic machinery often turns up there are also loads of us with "normal" cars hacking it along behind - frequent runners include myself and Mrs K's mk2 MR2s, an MG ZS, Civic Type R, Alpina E46, Imprezas etc.

yes

Plus I think true enthusiasts just love cars. I've seen supercar owners transfixed by old hot hatches that cost less than their matching luggage. And everybody loves MX5s.

Anyway, fledging attendance list copied over from the twin thread in the London section. Feel free to stick your name down and I'll try and keep the two threads synchronised!

1. Chris71 - thumbing a lift
2. Blib - Chris's taxi
3. Gary - Frogeye (definite probable)
4.

Anything in particular there, Plenty? Didn't I hear something about a Noble in the pipeline?
