Would love to have joined this one as there appears to be some very interesting cars out to play, and the IS-F just had some new booties so need to scrub them in...

..but alas I will be hosting clients at Wembley that day frown so perhaps next time...

Out of interest, are people sticking around after 10:30 (ie for some lunch) or just meeting up then going for a hoon?

I think some people are definitely staying for lunch.

I might do myself. Probably not hooning on this occasion as the TVR is only part way through its refresh work and the handling is still a tad wayward.

When we've arranged hoons in the past (well, I say 'we', Plenty has adopted that role very successfully of late...) it's usually been before the meet and people have stuck around for an hour or two afterwards.

If you're tempted, please do consider some nosh as the pub has been extremely accomodating towards us - they're opening specially for us again this time - so I feel a bit sorry for them staring at a car park dotted with nothing more than the odd half pint of lemonade! smile

I'm signed up for a run first thing that day with the Thames Valley crowd, but if there is interest I could change plans and put something together locally?

We usually start at around 0830 and go for a brisk canter of about 80-85 miles.

I may well be interested in a drive beforehand, but 1.4T might have some trouble keeping up with some of you!

Typically the routes we use mostly comprise B-roads and other twisty country lanes where nimbleness counts for much more than outright power. I reckon on these roads, an Abarth Grande Punto would hold its own against pretty much anything.

Not that it's a race, mind. Past runs have been distinguished by the high standard of considerate driving, and any aggressiveness is absolutely no-no.

And I might have trouble keeping up with you in a 1.9 diesel estate car. I may have to just meet at the pub this time and come out for a drive at a later date when I get the MR2 back, not as fast as some of you (all of you if I am honest, even those on foot) but I bet I have just as much fun in it smile

Unless Dad comes out with the NSX but he is not well at the moment so cannot plan anything until nearer the day, probably wont know until day before.

A mate of mine brought his Panda 100HP along recently and had no trouble keeping up in the interesting bits. smile

I can empathise with that. That's about what I get on a trip to the shops. Hopefully the trip to the dealers this weekend will aid that.

This is why I find it difficult to think about bringing the saab along on a hoon. Would much rather have a nippy little hatch to fling around instead of my 250 HP barge!

So it does have a weakness! smile

The IS-F that is ... Had my first chance to drive one a while back and I think it's one of my favourite cars. I loved the way it could flip instantly between between effortlessly relaxed cruiser and baby-NASCAR to suit your mood. Very jealous.
