Hello! I'm still relatively new to this area, but the spring weather means it's time to get the rag top back on the road.
Anyone interested in a little meet / blat round the Tring area?
I went for a little drive today and there are some great country roads and little pubs to find around here.
Like I say, I'm quite new to the area, so I'll happily defer to superior local knowledge or recommendations for driving routes. Just putting the idea out really...

Road up through ivinghoe beacon into ashridge is awesome if you dodge some of the potholes and deer. Depending on when meet is I'm game for popping over to take some shots. Stuck at uni till 16th April though. Back briefly next week but doubt anything will happen that soon.

Landlord is the, er, landlord of a pub at Hawridge, or somewhere around just off the A41 near Ashley Green, and I'm sure he'd welcome fellow PH'ers.

Yeah, I'm away next weekend, so Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th seems like a good day. Fingers crossed it'll be sunny.

Just wanted to Bump this thread - I have been talking to some non PH friends about this. I'm still waiting for a response from Landlord, but looks like we will aim to meet at his pub early doors, then head up towards Hitchin / Letchworth area for a bacon sarnie, then head back via some fast roads for lunch time and half a shandy at Landlord's pub about midday.
As I mentioned before, i don't know the area well enough to plan a proper route, I suppose we can figure it out on the day. If there aren't that many of us and we can keep in quite a close convoy then we could probably make it up as we go along.
Anyway, might as well start a list, as seems fashionable in such matters, and get an idea of numbers.
Sunday 17th April, Pub - Cafe - Pub meet and run. So Far

Scannellski - Lotus Elan
Boyband Dan - V5 Golf
Lonesey - Vintage Vespa

Get on board guys, and remember - Not putting miles on your supercar is like not having sex with your super model girlfriend so as to make her more desirable for her next boyfriend...!

Cheers

Morning all!
So the date and meeting place are set.

Sunday 17th April, Meeting at:
The Black Cat
Lycrome Road
Chesham
Bucks
HP5 3LF
01494 773966

They've got a massive car park and a nice south facing garden.
I spoke to Louis the Landlord there last night, and he's happy for us to meet there early, go for a hoon and then head back there for Lunch time ish.
He's agreed to open up part of the lawn to PHers and fast cars so we will be able to park up and have a good chat and a beer.
He does a cracking Sunday Roast, if it's sunny we can sit outside, and if it's not too hot, there's a function room with seating for about 30 that we can use, depending on numbers.

I haven't really done any research into driving roads yet, but still basically thinking about heading North and East towards Hitchin / Letchworth as I have a couple of mates up that way who might want to join the run for the way back.

If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for routes or roads, please PM me!

Happy Days!

If I have a new car by then I will make this.

Definitely needs a route planning before hand, do not try and make it up. The best hoons have had a well planned route.

+1 on the route. Known start and finish locations emailed (not posted on the forum) along with a Google maps and TomTom itn file have been the best in my opinion. Op you need to ask all people wanting to attend to PM you so you can get a contact email for them.

The Lotus is in the garage this weekend, but should be back on the road next weekend, so I will go for a spin and try and come up with a plan. Starting at the Black Cat as early as everyone wants to meet, and then heading North and East.
If you want in, PM me, I'll send out the route some time after next weekend.
List So Far:

Scannellski - Lotus Elan
Boyband Dan - V5 Golf
Lonesey - Vintage Vespa
Little Stevie - Honda Accord Sport Touring
YesItsARover - MG ZS 180
JasonTypeR - Honda Civic Type R
Goffahsez - Megane

OP - your start point is a little bit out of the way of really good roads, but if you're up for a 90-100 mile run I could easily put together an anti-clockwise loop via Hitchin that would satisfy. I'll be overseas and won't be joining the run myself, so consider this a community service!
