I’ve got a non car savvy friend who’s just been ripped off by his local VW garage on a MOT for his 20k mile 6 year old polo.

It’s failed it’s MOT for a passenger airbag warning light and they want £150 just to investigate.

Are there any recommendations for a garage in the Borehamwood / WD6 area that won’t take the pee?

Not sure I see the rip off here, airbag light is an MOT failure and that is just how main dealers price. Russell automotive in Kingsbury are VW specialists?

It might be cheaper to buy a code reader and do it yourself, the likely hood it is either the system needs a reset, or it’s a sensor. Something like Carly is dead easy to use.

Russell Automotive also charge a diagnostic fee. Was £80 for an initial diagnosis last time I called them up. Was warned that it could rise if the problem is more complex.
