My parents are coming up to stay over Christmas and I'm hoping my dad and I can escape the turkey sandwiches and TV repeats at some stage to take the TVR out. Is there anything worth checking out in the days after Christmas?

I have a feeling someone said there was a Boxing Day meet in the area somewhere? Looking for classic or vintage stuff primarily.

A TVR - out on Boxing day - in the UK .. Really ?? Have you seen the weather forecast ?

That is desperation to escape the house over Christmas ..
A Chimaera too... I'll even put the roof down and leave my golf clubs at home. smile

Well, I took the TVR on a 200 mile round trip into the wilds of Oxfordshire today, and I didn't die (or break down) at any point. Bouyed by this success I'm thinking I might indeed head over to the Boxing Day meet. Turns out it's the one at Bennington near Stevenage:

Sod it. We're going to head over. If anyone makers it over to Bennington say hello if you see two blokes in a slightly scruffy yellow Chimaera.

That said ... we had a couple of roads closed around here the other day due to flooding. Anyone know if the water level has subsided? Happy fording stuff in the daily shed, but not sure the TVR electrics would survive the experience.

Sorry. I did indeed chicken out. I'm far from a fair weather enthusiast normally, but on Christmas Eve I ended up in about two feet of water in my daily driver and didn't much fancy replicating that with the Chim. There were still some big old puddles and a flood warning in force around here so I assumed no one else would turn up.

It's on again this year! Weather permitting, we'll be there ... Same yellow Chim!
