The astronauts are on the way to the shuttle at the moment, so they obviously think there is a reasonable chance.

Gosh, these things sneak up on you these days.

Pity I won't be able to stay up to watch the launch.

Is this the first night time launch since the Shuttle returned to service?

Yes, the last one was STS-113 on 23rd Nov 2002.

Thanks.

I supposed that was the case.

Lets hope they don't have a Return to Launch Site abort.

Ok they're inside. Quick slam the damn door and hit the button whilst they're not looking.

It'll be funny.

*goes back to watching NASATV*

Is this worth staying up for or am i going to stay awake then with 7 mins to go they will spy a cloud 49 miles away that causes the launch to be posponed?

It looks clear enough!

That shot from a distance looks brilliant with the light bouncing off the shuttle

Meaning? They stop the clock from time to time to mixed it up a tad and really draw it out?

60% chance of launch, I am decided, I am staying up so i am off to get a nice big coffee
