Was my (and other Yanks') fate actually being pondered by an occupant of the UK's prison island? Now that is a line too far! wink
bow

hehehe... when I joined I remember thinking "Jimbeaux has survived a month.. if it's a safe place for the original colonials it's a safe place for me"

coz I'm a lazy convict and the sunny saturday outside is calling me, I can't be arsed looking through the thread, can someone post up the link where I enter my location to see if/when sightings are poss?

I think it just flew over Tassie looking at the feed from the states. I wonder if either of the Tasmanians saw it?

I read Clarkson's "I know you got soul" and there were some facts about the shuttle in there.
IIRC it's travelling at over 150 mph by the time it passes the top of the launch tower.
And there's a man sat in a hut at the edge of Canaveral with his finger on a button ready to detonate the Shuttle if it goes tits up.
I wonder if that is a union job?
Asked for you on another forum. It's an Air Force Officer with his finger on the button.

Watching NASA TV at the moment. They have decided to use a temporary tarmsc runway at Edwards as the main concrete runway is not fully kitted out with landing aids at the moment. The Shuttle Training Aircraft (a very elderly Grumman Gulfstream II) has just taken off to assess weather and wind conditions in the area.
