Me OCD? rolleyessmile

To be honest, it's not as fair as I would have liked. I wanted the boys to long board it, and they didn't. They buggered me about a bit, so I was just glad they finished it and left. I still haven't had the final invoice off them, despite chasing them down and leaving messages on their phones, which they don't reply to.
Maybe when I've bashed the dock a few times, I'll do it again myself. wink

Do you mean these? No teak handles though. Only the best quality bronze don't you know... I like something substantial to put my foot against, if needs be biggrin
Note the flush fitting skin fittings. I want Svip to be as slippery as a fish! wink

Hello shipmates! Did you think my project had stalled again?
Oh no, we've been busy. wink The toe rail is finally done smile
I'm going to leave it raw, as varnish will make it slipy to stand on/walk along when heeled.

Thanks for looking,
Mick smile

Thanks folks smile

I've had a look at the Boracol 10Y, and ironically it's originally a Danish product, but I can't buy it from the webpage, they only send to Belgium or Holland.
It's a good idea, but I think I have seen similar products, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for something off the shelf here.

Thanks Susanne, if I get stuck, I may just do that wink
But I'm pretty sure I've seen a similar product, but can't remember the name.
Not much going on the rest of this week. House guest....

And it gets hotter than the real stuff! I left a sample in the sun next to some teak, and tested it with my laser heat gun.

Howdoo! Nothing much to report at the mo. I have masked the rubbing strake and hull/deck joint, removed the strake and primed both with Sika primer before sealing and screwing it back on. I am hoping to get down tomorrow to clean up, re-mask and put a nice neat bead along the top and bottom. Then fitting the blue insert to cover the screws.

I'll post some pics when it's done wink Mostly now I am just removing and sealing everything that has been dry fit already.

Cheers,
Mick smile

Well Folks, this has stalled big time! Regrettably I have to let her go frown
I have a new job as engineer, on a new build 42 meter motor yacht in Italy, so I am travelling back and forth between there and home.
Realistically, I am not going to have time for this project for the foreseeable future, and I don't want to see her deteriorate.
So, it's time to pass her on to someone who will continue.

So, if anyone here is interested, or may know someone who might be, drop me a line. I'm open to reasonable offers.
This has literally cost me thousands, in the teens, as I had no intention of letting her go.
I know I'll take a big loss. C'est la Vie!
There's a brand new Nanni 14hp, twin cylinder diesel with transmission, wiring loom, and control panel. Loads of brand new Harken T track, a new Harken traveller and car for the mainsheet, loads of old sails, probably buggered, but they'd get you going, and whatever else I can dig up.

She's on the hard in the North of Mallorca, and the hard standing is paid up until the end of March.

I don't want her to deteriorate, and I'm not going to be around to keep an eye.
I would rather walk away than get stressed about it.

Yes, someone will get a bargain. But, I've landed the job I always wanted, so onward and upward. Better to find another Guardian than let her deteriorate.

The car doesn't cost money to sit there. I don't want the boat to go downhill while I'm not here. I'm willing to talk price on the boat. It's important to me to not see her go down. By all means post a link wink
