Just wondering as I'm not a boaty type, Why are there so many vent chimney things on deck? Is it to get rid of all the exhaust fumes from the cars?

Just that. So many fumes could knock you out or kill you.

Does anyone know where the ship had come from before it arrived at Southampton ?

Link above States it had BMW's on it when it arrived

I hope it didn't have a load of Spartanburg cars on it ..
Last port of call was Valletta and before that seems she was heading from Middle East. No idea on cargo.

Is she clearly visible from the mainland? The outlaws live in Southampton, might take a trip down at the weekend, assuming shes not refloated by then

Yes, very much so. Probably best viewed from Calshot Spit (opposite side of Southampton Water from the city itself).

Navionics shows charted depths of 0-2m around the bank, and a high tide of around 4.41m today, so anywhere from 4 to 6m depending where exactly she's lying.

Pics I took today.
The bulging of the super-structure at the rear starboard side makes it look like the cargo might have done a bit of sliding about.
I think that's an optical illusion from the paint job and the port hole (ok, what's the technical term?) where the stern ropes are thrown from / attached?

Not so much cars as heavy plant like JCBs, stone cutters, cranes.

It's not going to be a pretty sight.

Is she full of Jags and Range Rovers?

If so, if I float an F Type off, can I take it home...?

Also there was no mechanical failure - it was a cargo / fuel / ballast balancing problem. The pilot put the ship aground to stop it capsizing.
The chief mate will be looking for a new job then, as it's his job to ballast it properly.

Thanks. So without stating the bleeding obvious if they can't get her more perpendicular quickly then is she's a goner?

500 tonnes of fuel oil on board means they will want it upright fairly swiftly, and bad weather is coming in.

Ship not a goner I don't think, but will be a mess for sure.

Wouldn't it make sense to remove the fuel, make the centre of gravity a little higher, and easier to refloat, or will 500 tonnes not make enough difference?
