I bet the su-57 can't disguise itself as a cloud. That's next level stealth.

Keeps IR missiles from locking on, I believe. Well, except for the great big plumes of afterburner flame poking out the back. But otherwise, yeah.

Why would you fire a missile at a cloud, though?

The ball turret of the B-17 Flighing Fortress.

Due of the size of the ball turret, the gunners best suited to take the position were typically the smallest airmen in a crew; taller individuals would have struggled in the cramped, tiny spaces. The gunner would wear a flak jacket and an electrically-heated flight suit.

That is absolutely terrifying.

The lengths that people went to for the safety of our futures is truly humbling.

What's more terrifying, is the ball gunner couldn't wear his chute in the turret, so if the turret was damaged and stuck, and the crew couldn't get him out, so he could get his chute on to bail out........they were left to go down with the plane. A few no doubt elected to drop out that back hatch (if they could release it from inside which wasn't easy to do) and then drop out the back without a chute rather than burn inside the aircraft etc.

Krad towing a 234....probably being towed to the end of the runway for take-off, as they were so short of fuel, they couldn't afford to waste it for taxying......and engine life was so short as well.

Messerschmitt Me 264. I don't think it ever got beyond a handful of prototypes, though.

I'm sure it said on Facebook they were RNZAF.

Yes, they'll be RNAF or RAAF, as the RAF didn't operate the P-40 in SEAC.
