I'm re-reading it at the moment, inspired by the recent bout of Falklands discussions. It's a fantastic book.

All I can say is I'm glad a Tornado can do more than 7 hours without running out of oil!!!!!!! I'm still here!

Tornados have self deployed across the Atlantic before. The USN and RAAF have done 20 hour flights with the F18.

The Typhoon has a much more modern engine with one less shaft than the Tornado I'd be surprised if they couldn't accomplish something similar to the F18.
