GF and I working on a 50m yacht right now, anchored off Monaco last weekend was pretty epic, tenders everywhere and the noise was amazing even 1000+ metres offshore - 0200-0400 anchor watch saw some epic partying on and off shore and some truly moronic seamanship...

I was there for the GP at the weekend, sat over the marina in the swimming pool complex. The funniest thing I saw was a bloke adjusting the shrouds on a beaten up old Oceanis 31, while the race was going on.

Thats the one part of superyacht ownership that doesnt appeal. Spend tens of millions on a dream yacht then have to moor it virtually on top of someone else. No space, privacy or peace and quiet (although arguably you expect that at Monaco).

It just seems like living in a flat with rowdy neighbours all around you.

Every year it looks as if more and more boats are being crammed into that harbour. Do they ever prang into each other?

Probably happens now and again, but all the big stuff will have professional skippers.

It used to have a Type-35 Bugatti on the dining table. Other than that, meh. Never been a fan.
