How do you know it's Israel. It could be an Israeli F-16 in Egypt - for instance.

Is the Tornado and RAF example or somebody else's?

I don't, but I should imagine that most F-16I Sufa's are kept inside Israel except when they're off bombing somewhere else.

No idea whose Tornado it is. Maybe diverted to an Israeli base?

The Israeli Spit is nice.

In 1948, during the fisrt Egypt-Israeli War there were a number of air to air combats between Israeli and Egyptian Spitfires.

I think I'm right in saying the last time any Spitfire was in air to air combat it was against other Spitfires.

A Tornado? In Israel? How bizarre.
Are you sure its Israel. The more logical explanation is that it was taken on an exercise; something like Reg Flag at Nellis.

Correct. The picture is a still from the IMAX film "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag". It was at Nellis and the aircraft in the background is almost certainly German.

YesterdaySaturday on 'Glas Maol' above the Glenshee Ski centre. Pilot was unhurt and able to walk down the mountain aided by the climbers that were on the summit at time of the crash. Full story and more pics here

Ryan PT-22?

They were used as basic trainers during WW2. Their more normal colours were blue fuselages with bright yellow wings.

Seriously though I'm glad he was OK, he could have been stranded up there if you hadnt been at the right place at the right time.

He owes you a debt of gratitude.

Ryan STM-S2, one of 34 which survived the Japanese attacks on the Dutch AF in what is now Indonesia.
They were shipped to AUS and were as Eric says used as trainers. Some are still flying!
Ryan also built the 'Spirit of St. Louis'
