My company is a supplier to VTTS and I know Ian very well.

I'm sure we can organise our own meet...........but will PH allow a thread about a meet they haven't organised?

No idea why- I even posted in website feedback, about it. A mod did respond, but nothing ever came of it. Surely this would make a wonderful Sunday Service?

Can people please suggest a format to help me with ideas before I speak to VTTS?

Maybe make it a whole day event to maximise the amount of people that can attend?

Decent food is a must.

Guided tours of the Vulcan.

I personally would love to sit in her, but I'm assuming that is a no no? I'm sure they could raise some extra cash for the privilege.

I don't know how these things work, but may I suggest Mount Pleasant Hotel as a base ... only about 2 miles from the Vulcan and a very nice 4 star ... lots of very safe parking

How's about talking to Garlick ???? I've pm'd him to ask him to look at the last page of this thread about a proposed PHSS and get in touch with you to see what can be done... Fingers crossed...

My suggestions for what it's worth...

1. Official PH Sunday Service, car limit maybe 500/800/1000 ????
2. Organised parking airside or around the Vulcan hard standing, probably impossible, but a big selling point I would imagine!
3. Voluntary entry fee £2.00/£3.00 per car, to include a VTTS car sticker ??
4. Pre-booked Hangar tours - sign up in advance via provided URL.
5. Pre-booked 'Group' photo opportunities with cars in front of the beautiful beast herself. Small fee per car.
6. One of the best days would be a scheduled test day with a take-off and landing to be witnessed - mini Air Show in itself !
7. Proper quality food - bacon, sausage, egg butties, burgers, tea, coffee etc.
8. All profits (even from the food suppliers/caterers) to go to VTTS.

I'm in too, but engine det run is probably the best we could get as the service is not completed. We should aim for spring to raise funds for the season, not after it has started?

Do you know how much fuel it uses just to take off and land? We'd need to have another two services to pay for that!

£5 per car minimum entry and the aim to rasie funds a must.

I doubt there would be time to get such an event organised before end of March/early April, and I thought she had to go through some engine runs and pre-season flight tests before the start of the season anyway ??

Depending on which Sunday, I'd come along if I was free.

Already did the hanger tour last year, but would happily do it again if it meant that she would fly this year.

Not got a car worth bringing to show off though, but would welcome the chance to look at others pride and joy's

I've made a call and I've got to speak to Ian again on Monday when he can concentrate on the subject (newsletter day today and he's pretty busy!)

I'm not sure about a spring/February meet, it may well be too soon to organise such an event and besides funds are always required so a bit of an injection during the season won't go amiss I'm sure.

I'll still make a call Monday and post what's what, however if PH want to be involved I'll be happy with that and await a pm from Garlick or whoever.

All types, ages and conditions of cars are welcome at such events, so no need to leave it at home
