No pic but at around 11am I heard a distinctive rumble and ran outside to see a a Spit a Huricane and The Lancaster flying about 800 ft heading for Scarborough's Forces Day Display. Following the A165 I would have thought.

Magnificent sound.

Kept looking for XH558 but didn't see her.

Compared to today's designs and the other aircraft of its era I wonder how good a radar signature the Victor had?

When one lives close to Duxford, one becomes blasé about seeing classic aircraft.

However, I saw this odd combination as I walked the dog: a Spitfire and (I think) a Dragonfly flying in formation.

I did wonder if it was some air-to-air photography going on.

I think that there is a company running "Fly With a Spitfire" flights out of Duxford that uses a Dragon Rapide.

That's mighty impressive. I wonder if anyone has a recording of that happening. Would make for 'interesting' viewing!

There has been no ab-initio WSO (Weapons Systems Officer, ie what used to be called 'Navigator') training since the demise of the Dominie in January 2011.

The King Air replaced the Jetstream in the Multi-Engined Advanced Pilot Training role.

Being pedantic, its a PC-9 - was an RSAF a/c at Warton for instructor training until sent back to KSA a few years ago.

Thanks, didn't realise 'Nav' training had been done away with
