Yeah I'm ex WCML PWay, used to do the gun work around the tampers and work with techs and TQS. Also did tamping surveys and assisted with designs when in the tech office.
Are you Colas out of Rugby?
I am indeed. Are you Colas out of Rugby?

Then there's the guys on the machines: R.Lineham, S.Evans, R.Swain, A.Smith, M.Nathan.

If its a good story, then if names need changing, can it be told on here?
I heard it about 7-8 years ago now I think. Think brokeback mountain but with no tent or mountain.Instead, put a welders Transit van and a renewals site in their place.
I've got no idea if it's true or not tbh.
However, A good rule of thumb when working on the railway is 'Believe half of what you read, and nothing you're told'.

or traveling on it, in my experience.Yertis said:
Actually I used to love travelling by rail, and still would if FGW hadn't seen fit to cram everyone in like sardines.
So did I. 20-25 years ago, when my two sons were little, I had a family railcard which took advantage of really good value fares. The two boys could travel anywhere for a pound each. Probably cost a small fortune to do that now. Great days gorn forever.Last time I used a train was five years ago. I bought a low mileage near pristine Rover 620ti out of the depths of Cornwall and took the train to pick it up and drive it back. Beautiful sunny day including passing over Brunel's Saltash bridge. Lots of the track follows the coastline closely. So much interesting scenery to admire. The drive back was a delight too. Still have that car.

No mention of the good old MENTOR coach yet!
Mentor is dead! retired to brake van/barrier vehicle duties, they've built a "new" one.All I know about MENTOR is that the crew gave my mate a fry up when he was on board, and when I went on I got nothing, last time I set foot on there I can tell you.
