It's my Seven. Going about 150mph. Backwards.
My brother-in-laws Caterham made it to Cyprus in the back of a Herc.I still remember the descent from Troodos we made in the thing. Epic. How we survived, I don't know.

Do you have to pay for this.... or just use spare capacity?
Probably a Loadie Training exercise, every vehicle has a different tie-down scheme and there are very strict rules on how much fuel is in the tank, etc.Of course at loadie school, once you have passed all the exams on how to do the loading and the rules, if you get streamed onto Rotary the first thing they do is tell you to forget all the rules as you don't have time if you are extracting from a hot area....

Got my first helicopter lesson on Saturday so will try to get some shots! (If I'm allowed!)
I have this mind's eye picture of a bedraggled, bewildered tyro staggering from the winding down helicopter with hair all over the place, a 'WTF?!' look in his eyes and a camera dangling unused around his neck thatone1967 said:

This was in 2002 - doubtless things may have changed - but as I recall it was only done if there was spare capacity. I seem to remember him getting a call to be at Lyneham with the 7 now for a last minute slot, and there being a cross-country hoon of epic proportions from Bulford as a result.Fat Albert said:

And yeah, spare capacity. That shot was taken on a simple navex down to the West Country - I got dropped at a barracks on the way home ready for a weekend round the Evo triangle. (Saved me a few quid on bridge tolls too )

It's years ago, but when I worked in Airfreight (granted it was civilian) I am sure the rules were no fuel and no batteries?
Nah, more fuel is better as there's less vapour remaining in the tank.Course the easy way to be sure is to hang it all underneath the aircraft ;-).

CF Kid: Would you want your pride and joy as an USL? having seen a couple of SACRU premature releases (one killed a Cow apparently) it would be a bit worrying!
