66 knots? Whoa! Must use tons of diesel at max speed ....eek
It's petrol, so the consumption will be even worse!

The result was a 12-cylinder, 4,500cc, V12 Ferrari engine - the same as can be found in the Type 375 Grand Prix car.
My recollection is that they used to run it on methanol. And I think the 375 engine was supercharged. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, though.

I'd go for this, a collaboration between the manufacturer of the world's most beautiful boats and the world's most beautiful cars.

Ferrari Riva 32, circa 1980's (I think).

That Ferrari one is nice, but I prefer the Aston Martin Voyage concept cool

I'm sorry, but that is utter gash! irked

That contrived "Aston grille" windscreen and that Aston badge across the front? And the car back end? It's a boat!

What were they thinking..?

I guess it's marmite. I absolutely adore it.

I think they've over-egged it with the lights and windscreen, but otherwise quite nice.

They're 2 of my favourite details about it. It's recognisable as an Aston which I presume was a design objective?

The iconic grille shaped windscreen is brilliant imo. My favourite bit are the side strakes though smile

There's one of those for sale at the yard in mallorca where I keep my boat. V low hours and v cheap. Looks cool in an 80's sort of way, but otherwise... scratchchin

Back the Ferrari powerboat, if you can't afford it you can buy a model instead:

It's a collection of Aston design features crudely applied to a boat.

There's nothing of what makes an Aston Martin an "Aston Martin" in there - the proportions, the way surfaces flow and blend into each other, the reasons how and why the distinctive details and features look the way they do and are in those places rather than being totally generic...

They didn't think "how would AM design a boat?" they thought "how many AM bits can we tack on before lunch?". They haven't taken the lights you need on a boat and made them Aston-ish, they literally put AM headlights on - rendered completely useless by the fact they are on the top of the hull.

It stops short of wheels, surprisingly - perhaps instead of old tyres as fenders they sling some 20" Aston rims over the side...

But then they didn't even use the obvious cliché of having Aston seats as helm chairs - it's just a completely anonymous powerboat cockpit.

That Riva is done properly - it has Testarossa style side strakes, but not literally the side strakes from a Testarossa bolted to the side, and pop-up headlights.
Absolutely exactly that! yes

What next, an Aston Martin house? Take a perfectly ordinary house, make the windows the shape of an Aston Martin grilles, put a couple of Aston headlights in the eaves, maybe some Aston wheels around the flower borders and voila!

Or worse, take an innocuous cheap hatchback and do it to that, an Aston grille, the Aston strakes on the wings, bung in some leather and triple the price! Nah, they'd never do that... biggrin

And you can make any car a 'Jaguar' by sticking a Leaper on the boot-lid...

I preferred them on the front end personally.
