Copper sheathing?

I realise Coppercoat tries to achieve the same thing, but surely the most effective way of deter fouling is still to coat the bottom in copper sheets – only nowadays held on with epoxy.
Looking at what’s online – there can’t be much in it price-wise (give or take the inexpensive epoxy) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Art-Emboss-Foil-Copper-L...
Zinc still trumps copper in the galvanic series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_series) but I suppose you’d get through quite a few anodes (why doesn’t Coppercoat have this effect?)...

OK foil will just disappear in a very short space of time. Copper sheathing relies on the thickness being sufficient to be capable of shedding a fine layer and still be intact.
And if you coppercoat and let it come into direct electrical contact or even close enough it will destroy your anodes before you can say launch me haul me.

Anyway sonic antifouling is where it is at nowadays and I have recently experimented with a continuous loop recording of myself played through a 14" sub woofer epoxied to the hull shouting "f
k off you bd barnacles".
The trial has been a mixture of failure and success. I still get the barnacles but I have the whole leg of the marina to myself.

Hello Ben, are you still smoking around Palma in that TVR? 
A friend of mine has done some testing with the sonic stuff, with favorable results.
He's now installing.
