This picture was taken a few days ago showing an unidentified aircraft being transported by truck on it's way to Tianjin.

The interesting fact is, if it is just a mockup for display, then why the heavy security?

Even the J-10 does not receive such an escort when it is being transported for overhaul.

It could be a ruse for misinformation, or a distraction while the real one goes another way.
indeed... or it could be viral "marketing".

The same way the j-20 pictures were "leaked" when the US defence secretary was in China visiting.

I see them needing a new heavy strike fighter along the lines of the F-15E or the Fullback, and that should see them sorted for a generation in terms of aircraft design.
That would be the JH-7B then.

The upgraded and "stealthed" successor to the current JH-7A fighter bomber

A drawing/overlay

This was a post on CD two weeks ago. It was ridiculed at the time. Now people are not so sure.

"2 WS-13, 8300 x 2, internal bomb bay, 4 PL-15, dsi, 17m length, MTOW 25 ton, max fuel load(?) 7 ton, first flight in August, first prototype finished, going to test flight center."

Another bit of information quoted from another forum...

"If huitong's information is right regarding the engines of the F60 being the upgraded WS-13B that has 6000kgf dry and 9500kgf afterburner, the F60 has good change to feature supercruise then. Converting the kgf to lbf gives us 13,227lbf dry and 20943lbf wet thrust, which are pretty much the performance values quoted for the EJ200 engine used on the Eurofighter, which features Mach 1.1-1.5 supercruise."

It's not the design of the engines... it's the supply chain.

I believe they were having problems with quality of parts not being of a consistent nature and meaning the engines could not meet their target service life.

These problems have supposedly been addressed.
