this is my lunch today:
http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/things_we_make/veg...

try one, they're actually pretty great. ok it's still factory made but a damn site better than any other microwavable food and only 330cals.

breakfast recently has been a berroca, a sugar free red bull and two marlboro. lunch usually an innocent pot or salad, no snacks and whatever i like for dinner.

For me any diet which cuts out a food group or is too restrictive is going to fail, portion size is key as is eating three meals a day.

I avoid pasta as you don't get alot of it for your calories, instead I prefer lean protein and pulses, smoothies are also out as they lack fibre and are predominantly sugars, all be it natural.

Egg on brown toast can be more satisfying and less calories than some cereals.

Much as it pains me to say this, give up alcohol and you won't need to diet.
No need, the mistake people make is eating and drinking. You only need to do one at a time. If you are drinking you don’t need food.

less food + more exercise is unfortunately the answer. I find portion control and moderation are the key eating less. If you cut out too many foods you'll no longer enjoy eating. Cut down on the bad stuff, cut out the really bad stuff. I find the things to avoid are milk/butter/fat/cheese/crisps. Oh and avoid snacks.

I am lucky and don't have a sweet tooth so I don't do puddings, sweets, chocolate, sugary drinks etc. I went to the dentist after 15 years, ok lots of plaque but no erosion, she was surprised.

Fill up of the meat and two veg and skip pudding. Ok some people joke about my sometimes comical dinners in the food thread but you don't see me posting pics of humungus puddings.

My healthy plan is this:

Banana about 8am. Cereal, plus a bit of fruit 9:30. Salad plus cereal bar lunch, then a bit more fruit in the arvo. Sensible tea (not mentally healthy; spag bol, stri-frys, grilled meat and veg kinda things but regulating the protion size). I drink water all day and have the odd cup of vending machine coffee. I'm trying my hardest to resist the leftover chrimbo beer too!
Get some protein into your diet, if you suffer from hunger pangs between meals a decent high protein meal will cure it. No real protein in your diet until tea time, I guess you take milk with your cereal but milk is only about 4% protein.

Banana and fruit is quick release energy not to mention full of sugar (albeit it natural), hence you eating an hour and a half later.

Try and up your breakfast to something that will see you through until lunch, porridge is good.

Have a more substantial lunch, salad and a cereal bar doesnt seem like much.

Cut the carbs down to a miniumum at tea time and try not to eat too late.

Nuts (natural, unsalted etc) can be a pretty good snack between meals but are very high in carbs so don't over indulge in them. They are also high in essential fatty acids and protein which is good.

Diet control is hard and takes effort but it'll be worth it when hopefully you look in the mirror in a few months time and see a difference.

I hope I'm not sounding a bit preachy there, I'm trying to cut down myself as I have found myself eating too much way too easily in the past.
