Four pages in (man sized pages) and no mention of the awesome flavour concoctions from the Scottish masters of hops Brewdog??? if we're stuck to lager then I'll go with http://www.brewdog.com/product/fake-lager but ordinarily I'd go with either http://www.brewdog.com/beer/5am-saint or http://www.brewdog.com/beer/hardcore-ipa

I'd like to get hold of some Alhambra Reserva 1925 - anyone know a UK outlet, as I can't find one currently?

Only recently tried fake lager. Think I actually prefer 77...For lagers from Scottish brewers, there are a few others I'd prefer. Off the top of my head, anything from WEST (last time I was there they were all lagers, well worth a trip to the brewery/beer hall in Glasgow) or Harviestoun Schiehallion.
ETA: Worth saying that Punk IPA has been one of my drinks of choice for the last few years. Haven't been keeping up enough with Brewdog recently though, partly because I'm not that fond of the Edinburgh bar (especially on a Fri/Sat night).

I don't think this has been mentioned. http://www.chapeldown.com/Products/102-curious-bre...
Interesting, and lots of flavour, not a session beer. Have seen it on tap nearby (Kent) but not been there for a while as it's a drive and the only standard strength lager was Kaltenberg

It's on offer this week in Tesco - 1.79 a bottle, or 4 for £6http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/#/brands/Alhambra_i...

There is a massive amount of snobbery surrounding lager which I think is a shame. If you enjoy drinking it then go for it!
I personally prefer darker ales, but I do enjoy some Brew Dog lagers (their lighter stuff) and Corona is always nice.
Some interesting suggestions in this thread, might have to try a few

Over the past few years I have really got into weird and wonderful beers and the beermerchants website is like a sweetshop to get a load of different beers at home for your drinking pleasure
http://www.beermerchants.com/
I always go for a few wheat beers and some of the stronger beers (mainly belgian and german) such as Kwak, Delirium Tremens, and Leffe Radieuse. Not the sort of beers for a pub session but great beer to slowly enjoy at home.
A local bar in Chester (Hickories) has Brooklyn Beer on tap which I haven't seen very often.
Just to add to the thread, a few good belgium beer type bars I have visited are:
Artichoke - Chester
Ship & Mitre - Liverpool
Lowlander - London
Bar Fringe - Manchester

I can thoroughly recommend the fly in the loaf, salt dog slims, the shipping forecast and the hub to name a few, all in Liverpool all very good with loads of imported beers.http://www.beermerchants.com/
