All about the Henry Westons for me, the 8.2% stuff of course.
Seems to be on offer in the Co-op since for ever, two bottles for £3, bargain.
What I call 'st facing cider', way too easy to more than a bit merry off that stuff! Seems to be on offer in the Co-op since for ever, two bottles for £3, bargain.
The Co-op seem to be upping their game with cider recently, even my little local shop has a very good selection on offer.
Also, i know it'll probably be considered piss water by some, but i noticed some Carling cider in Sainsbury's the other day, anyone tried it?
I'm a big fan of the Aspall's Premier Cru. Lovely, really dry.
I also enjoy Rekorderlig and Kopparberg... Oh look, what's this?
...it's the preliminary route for my motorbike trip, leaving 8 weeks on Saturday. Point E is Vimmerby... Where they make Rekorderlig. Point F is Kopparberg, where they make, well, Kopparberg. We arrive in Kopparberg on the 21 June. Midsummer. Apparently, the Swedes like to party that night. Which is also a Friday... We're there for 2 days.
I think this could get messy (we've also got a stop in Åhus, where Absolut is distilled...)

ok i may well get alot of stick for this but personal taste and all that...
Has to be the medium cider, and 7.5% so only takes a few
Also although i have not had it for a while, Henneys medium cider is very refreshing

Go to "traditional" and you'll find proper Somerset rocket fuel. I recommend the Cheddar Valley. Here's a picture - this is about the true colour:

Any cider or perry that doesn't come in a bottle, and isn't fizzy. Basically I only drink it in good pubs which also have real ale on tap (and hopefully CAMRA endorsement).
I prefer a chilled, sweet and cloudy cider. Delicious. Never thought I would enjoy it, as I hate the fizzy piss like Strongbow that most people mistake for cider.

I love cider, I'd rather drink that than ale or larger. My top choices, if I can get them, are Aspalls, Henry Westons or Savannah dry. Thankfully my coop stocks a good selection of ciders so there is always plenty to choose from if I feel like trying something different, and bottled ciders almost invariably tend to be on offer too.
Me and my mates have a "chucklehead" day ......
Buy some cider, chill it in the fridge...... take a big picnic, and kids to local rec..... kids play games, adults get merrily pished, and then kids lead the adults home
Photo from 1st Chucklehead Day in Aug 09....... One Medium & One Dry ...7%bv..... gave a few neighbours a pint as we were loading up car to transport everything to the park, they were merry & light headed after that

I'm quite partial to Old Rosie and the boxed Westons stuff, but a heavy night on either makes way for the mother of all headaches the next day
I have become somewhat of a cider connoisseur since living in the West Country, and Old Rosie is my favourite too (preferably in those big rounded glass demijohns I do find that the bottled Rosie tastes quite different from the Rosie on tap in my local 'spoons, the tap one is slightly more acrid for some reason.
Another flat one that is rather nice is Black Dragon, from deepest darkest Weeeals, boyo. Very smooth, very dark and very strong (and only available in boxes)
As far as bottled, readily available (ie supermarket stocked) stuff goes, Thatchers Green Goblin is very drinkable and not too expensive. If you really want a headache in the morning though then try drinking a bottle of Henry Westons Vintage at the same rate as a "normal" cider..... 8.2% vol
As for Strongbow, Magners etc... they are to cider what an FSO Polonez is to the world of motoring
If anyone in Bristol wants educating on proper cider, then pay a visit to the Bristol Cider Shop. Stacked with all manner of obscure low-production high quality gear, and staffed by a pair of incredibly friendly gents who will let you try samples before you buy, to enable you to get exactly the right cider for your tastebuds!

Henry Westons Vintage in Bottles 8.2% - lush
Westons Organic in the 3ltr Wine Box 7.5% from (a very hazy) memory, ASDA used to sell it ... not sure if they do any more.
I stay away from the >6% stuff, for me they just don't taste as nice (normally only have one or two drinks at a time so percentage isn't usually an issue).Westons Organic in the 3ltr Wine Box 7.5% from (a very hazy) memory, ASDA used to sell it ... not sure if they do any more.
You'll all hate me, but I really like the Brother's Toffee Apple cider

That stuff does have a kick to it. Reminds me of sixth form nights out around wincanton. Have gone a bit soft since then and now I so like Old Rosie. Go to "traditional" and you'll find proper Somerset rocket fuel. I recommend the Cheddar Valley. Here's a picture - this is about the true colour:
